Thanks to an article posted on E!, who attended a Meet the Filmmakers event at the Regent Street Apple Store in London, we now have confirmation from Scarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen, that the character will appear in Marvel’s Phase 3 Captain America: Civil War.
At this point the movie is looking more like an Avengers 2.5, but that doesn’t make the news any less exciting. Already on board to appear in the sequel is Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, who will oppose Chris Evan’s character in the film. Also Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, and Sebastian Stan will return as Falcon, Hawkeye, and The Winter Soldier, respectively, just to name a few.
With Avengers: Age of Ultron upon us, where Olsen makes her debut after a small post-credits sequence in The Winter Soldier, she feels the time is right to make the announcement.
“I guess I’m allowed to talk about that now,” Olsen said. Marvel hasn’t yet confirmed the news. Civil War is currently in pre-production, but Olsen mentioned that she would be filming her scenes in a couple of weeks.
Are you excited for the Civil War that’s brewing between allies and heroes? Who will stand with Iron Man? Who will stand with Captain America? We’ll find out when the movie debuts on May 6, 2016.
