Retired NFL star Tom Brady took to his Instagram page to share a cryptic quote about “success” and “false friends” a day after his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen’s interview with Vanity Fair.
When Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen got married 13 years ago, everyone took notice of the power couple. And the story is still pretty much the same after the duo announced their divorce in October last year.
During their 13 years of marriage, the pair welcomed two children together — Benjamin, 13, and Vivienne, 10. Brady also fathered an older son Jack, 15, from his previous marriage with actress Bridget Moynahan.
Although Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have been separated since October, their relationship has remained a hot topic; more recently, Bundchen sat down with Vanity Fair for a tell-all interview where she opened up about their divorce.
In the interview that surfaced online on Wednesday, Bundchen admitted that she still loved Brady. However, she revealed that they grew apart and later discovered they “wanted different things.”
The supermodel also used the opportunity to shut down rumors that Tom Brady’s decision to retire in 2022 played a part in their divorce. She also vowed to continue supporting Brady in whatever he does.

Tom Brady’s Cryptic Quote After Gisele Bundchen’s Vanity Fair Interview
Barely a day after Gisele Bundchen‘s interview surfaced online, Brady took to Instagram to share a cryptic message. Although the post felt like a response to his ex-wife’s interview, it still left many scratching their heads over its meaning.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ took to his Instagram story to share a quote from philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson. Tom Brady’s cryptic quote centered on the meaning of success and “false friends.”
It read in part:
“What is success? To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends.”
Brady shared the quote alongside three heart emojis. There has not been any direct response to his ex-wife’s interview. However, his recent post has given rise to rumors that there might be some unresolved issues between them.
Meanwhile, the NFL legend announced his retirement from his beloved sport in February. He is widely regarded as the most successful quarterback to have ever played football.
