Steve Aoki, a major player in the electronic dance music scene, is no stranger to live music. The famous DJ takes us through his experience of filming the virtual concert. The provided video shows us his process of constructing the musical event. A long-time Sonic the Hedgehog fan himself, Steve Aoki shares his love and passion for the nostalgic SEGA mascot.

Steve Aoki and SEGA have built a green-screen set that will primarily feature the DJ performing his remixed set of Sonic the Hedgehog music. From new twists on classic tunes to original tracks, Steve Aoki is going all-out for this digital experience. In the video, he expresses his enthusiasm for the project by saying:

It’s all about this new metaverse. And I’m excited about what that looks like, what that feels like for everyone else. So when I’m playing [the virtual concert], I’m imagining what you’re seeing, and it’s absolutely phenomenal. Something that you won’t experience yet. I can’t wait for you guys to see my show the way it will look in this immersive experience.”

The Sonic the Hedgehog x Steve Aoki Virtual Concert event will be happening on November 30, 2021. Anyone can join in on the fun by watching the event either through YouTube or Twitch. November 30 will also mark Steve Aoki’s 44th birthday.
