After seeing the discourse about herself online, the singer decided to address the plastic surgery rumors once and for all on TikTok.

In response to a TikToker analyzing her face, Gomez commented, “Honestly I hate this.” Since she’s had enough of the rumors, the star decided to be open about the real reason behind her physical changes. So, what is it? Gomez explained her face may seem different due to her lupus. However, it also likely changed due to her Botox. Now that her fans know the truth, perhaps the Selena Gomez plastic surgery rumors can finally be put to rest.
“I was on stripes because of flare up. I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone,” Gomez wrote.
Gomez left her comments underneath a TikTok from 2023 in which a physician’s assistant at a plastic surgery office analyzes the singer’s facial features. In the video, the PA named Marissa gives her “honest opinion” about whether Gomez may have had plastic surgery done. While she may have had a lot to say about other celebrities, Marissa admitted that when it comes to Selena Gomez, she has “no idea” what she has gotten done. She said:
I think she has been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don’t think it’s fair to speculate whether or not she’s gotten cosmetic things done. I don’t know what to attribute any of these changes to… At the end of the day, let’s just leave her be.
After seeing Gomez’s response, Marissa shared a follow-up video apologizing for joining the discourse about her physical appearance. “I adore you,” she said, “I really do mean the best, so I apologize if this rubbed you the wrong way in any way whatsoever.”
Thankfully, Gomez was very understanding. She responded to Marissa by telling her, “I love you. Not about you. I just get sad sometimes.”
