Selena Gomez looked a million dollars in her dramatic red ballgown last week, but she still managed to get shamed. Stepping out in a ravishing dress for the BFI London Film Festival premiere of her Emilia Perez movie on Friday, the 32-year-old displayed her signature curves in a jaw-dropping dress, channeling princess vibes and old-world glam while rocking the bow accent trend.
All smiles despite the cold U.K. weather, Selena pulled off her sleeveless, low-cut look without a hitch, but for some the pop star wasn’t looking too comfortable. When users commented on Selena’s dress on The Daily Mail, the most-liked comment deemed the gown’s bodice “too tight.” Meanwhile, another fan said that Selena looked “uncomfortable.” The premiere was also attended by Selena’s Emilia Perez costar, Zoe Saldana.
Selena Gomez Turns Heads In Red Ballgown
Highlighting the figure The Daily Mail recently called “shrinking,” Selena showed off her shapely arms and shoulders while rocking a vivid red gown with a floor length.
Showing off her hourglass silhouette, the “Love On” hitmaker opted for a fitted bodice and slightly low neckline, modeling a slight push-up at the chest as she accentuated her curves. With draping, ruched fabrics from the waist down, Selena channeled classic Hollywood style with a decorative bow, adding in a leaf diamond necklace and jewelry, plus her dark locks swept up.
Rocking a high ponytail and two loose strands framing her face, Selena completed her glam with heavy matte makeup, sporting a defined dark lip and dark pink eyeshadow.
Getting Told Dress Is ‘Way Too Tight’
Shading Selena’s look, one fan replied: “The dress bodice is way too tight. It’s otherwise very nice on her, one size up would have looked great.” Over 160 others agreed.
“Strange pose. Looks uncomfortable,” another wrote. Fortunately, others were more complimentary, with one fan telling the former Disney star: “Selena looks beautiful… stunning red gown!”
The photos come as Selena turns heads for reportedly losing weight, although she’s spent much of 2024 celebrating her curves. “Today I realized I will never look like this again,” she wrote in January while sharing side-by-side photos of herself taken a decade apart.
“I’m not perfect but I am proud to be who I am … sometimes I forget it’s OK to be me,” she added.
Gomez suffers from the autoimmune condition Lupus and has confirmed that her weight can fluctuate based on whether or not she takes the medication she’s prescribed. Her most recent weight loss came only over the past month, leaving some fans speculating Ozempic use.
