46-year-old Shakira said that there is a “place in hell” for women who do not support other women. This is not the first time that the Waka Waka singer has thrown shade at her ex’s new girlfriend. The singer continues to publicly slam her cheating ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.
In a new interview with Enrique Acevedo of Canal Estrellas on Monday, the Hips Don’t Lie singer opened up. Shakira was vocal about her breakup with her ex, Gerard Pique. The Te Felicito singer explained that she has “always been emotionally quite dependent on men…” The Columbian singer previously bought into the idea that “a woman needed a man to be complete.”
After the split from Pique, Shakira has been able to realize that she is sufficient on her own. The Whenever, Wherever singer expressed how her life is lately. The alleged cheating of the 36-year-old former soccer player with his much younger girlfriend, 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti has made Shakira stronger. The new couple recently went on to debut their relationship on Instagram.
Inside Shakira’s Split From Pique
After the award-winning singer discovered Pique’s alleged cheating because of a used strawberry jam, the couple split up. The former couple confirmed their split in a joint announcement in June 2022. Later, the “Queen of Latin Music” announced that she and her sons; 10-year-old Milan, and 8-year-old Sasha will be moving to Miami. However, the singer has established a custody agreement with the athlete.
The Grammy award winner explained that all she is focusing on is being a “lioness” for her sons whom she shares with Pique. The breakup experience was a painful one for the La La La singer. However, Shakira explained that the strength to move on comes from accepting what life has thrown at her. The singer wants to heal from her past and also be an example to her children.
