Like Lieutenant Gordon told Batman, escalation is a problem. When Snakes on a Plane hit cinemas, you probably thought that was about as ridiculous as a movie could get without using actual clowns. Then Sharknado came along and now we’re up to Sharknado 4.
Just in case you don’t know much about movies involving Shark-based weather, Sharknado is a movie about a tornado that launches sharks. This bizzare situation becomes even more perilous due to the fact that the sharks seem to be able to survive on land just fine.
Not only did this concept fill an entire movie, it also managed two sequels; ‘Sharknado 2; The Second One’ and Sharknado 3: ‘Oh Hell No!’ From the second movie onwards, they signed a contract to appear on SyFy.
And now we have the first details about the fourth installment. According to NME.com;
“It’s going to be called The 4th Awakens in a nod to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Set five years after the last film, the characters have enjoyed five years free from the shark-tornado hybrids, but now Fin (Ian Ziering) and his family must face them again as the freakish weather stars appearing in new places.
The two hour original film will premiere on Syfy on July 31st 2016 at 8pm ET/PT. Tara Reid is set to return as April, although there’s currently an online fan vote running to decide whether she lives or dies”
