He Loved the Views, Not the Vibes: Traveling TikToker Reacts to Branson, Missouri, ‘Liberal in Enemy Territory’

The vacation was half Trump memorabilia, half beautiful sights

Exploring new places can be mind-blowing when you venture away from the place you’ve always called home. There are so many sights to see in America before you leave your own country behind for more travel opportunities. One traveling TikToker adventured to Branson, Missouri so he could see their beautiful, natural sights. However, he was surprised when he became what he says is a “liberal in enemy territory.”

TikToker @liberalontravel posts about politics while taking trips all over the world. In one of his most recent videos, he visited Branson, Missouri, to see the gorgeous Ozarks in all their glory. Though he loved the sights and sounds initially, that feeling apparently didn’t last for long. As this traveler says, “I spent 2 mins in Brandon and got the [expletive] out of there.” Why? As you can see from his video log of the area, he was in Trump Country, USA.

@liberalontravel

You all loved my “Blue Dots in a Red Sea” series, so here is it’s opposite counter part! The Ozarks are insanely beautiful, but honesty I spent 2 mins in Branson and got the h*ll out of there. I enjoyed some of the outdoor attractions like Top of the Rock and Dogwood Canyon, but was disappointed to learn after the fact they’re owned by a billionaire… foreshadowing for our national parks? 😬 Overall, I am glad I experienced it once, but I’ll be going to other parts of Missouri in the future… #bluedot #liberal #travel #bluedotinaredstate #wanderlust

This TikToker shows himself standing next to a giant Trump animatronic as he says he “goes undercover in conservative areas so that you don’t have to.” He says that Branson has been “long-known as the capital of Christian Nationalism.” In two minutes’ time, he realized that there are a ton of stores on the major strip selling Trump memorabilia and Confederate flags galore.

Not everything was a bust in Branson, however. He found a nice little BBQ restaurant and even had some homemade ice cream. He said he’s a nature lover and that’s why he decided to visit Branson, so he could enjoy some Missouri sights. Two sights he witnessed were the attractions Top of the Rock and Dogwood Canyon. He thought they were wildly beautiful but there’s one problem. These two attractions are actually owned by the same billionaire who is the CEO of Bass Pro Shops. That sealed the deal that this was not the place for him. As he says, these attractions are not necessarily meant for the public. They are private. Something doesn’t sit right with a billionaire gatekeeping nature like that, huh?
