You might assume that people who work in pet grooming love animals, but that’s unfortunately not always the case. A recent animal abuse incident in North Carolina makes that painfully clear. Several disturbing videos have gone viral on Facebook and quickly spread across other social media platforms. The footage shows a female groomer at Classy Critters Pet Resort & Spa in Mooresville violently handling the very animals she was supposed to care for. In the videos, she can be seen slamming, hitting, and aggressively yanking up dogs during the blow-drying process. The animals appear calm and well-behaved. They aren’t barking, biting, or resisting, yet the groomer shows no patience or care. Her behavior suggests she despised the grooming process altogether.
This abuse only came to light after one of the employees at Classy Critters was fired. Facebook user Summer Hilton shared the videos, explaining that her sister had worked at the pet spa in Mooresville and had witnessed the mistreatment firsthand. After verbally reporting it to the owner, Pam, multiple times without any action taken, Hilton’s sister decided to record the abuse to provide undeniable proof. According to screenshots of their conversation, Pam acknowledged the issue in a text message dated June 20, 2025, stating she would “talk” to the groomer involved.
Despite the footage, the woman seen abusing the animals reportedly still works at the facility and was present as recently as this week. Meanwhile, Hilton’s sister was fired after having to leave work due to a family emergency, with Pam allegedly doubting her reason for leaving. Feeling confused and outraged that the person abusing animals faced no consequences while she lost her job, Hilton’s sister took to social media to expose the abuse and raise awareness.
The video has now gone viral, drawing widespread outrage and condemnation toward Classy Critters from internet users across multiple platforms. One TikTok user, @itsyourgirlgenna_, took a more proactive stance by sharing the footage alongside a passionate one-minute rant. In her video, she firmly condemned the groomer’s actions, calling them completely unacceptable.
She pointed out that grooming is already a stressful experience for many animals, and abusive behavior only adds unnecessary trauma. Genna also urged her followers to take action and hold both the groomer and the Mooresville business owner accountable. Her message clearly resonated. The video has received over 200,000 likes and thousands of comments, most expressing heartbreak and fury over the abuse. One user wrote, “The RAGE that filled my body watching those videos. Those poor babies.. 😭”
