Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori have more pitfalls in store for them as a new lawsuit alleges involvement in “slavery” and exposing minors to porn content. In recent times, Kanye and his wife have stirred the storm with a lot more than their provocative outfits. The two raised eyebrows this month following revelations they flew the economy class, which sparked speculations of money troubles.
These speculations were further fueled by reports that the Yeezy founder reached out to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian for financial help. Amid his compounding financial woes, Kanye West is about to fall deeper into crisis as a new lawsuit hits him.
The lawsuit, filed by a group of employees, accused the rapper of operating hostile work conditions and enabling racism. Filed in the U.S. District Court, the suit centered around the working conditions the plaintiffs endured under Kanye’s employment managing the YZYVSN, a streaming service app he created to promote his rap music and possibly rival the likes of Spotify and Tidal.
The suit alleged Kanye and Milo hired an international developer group to that effect, per TMZ. This group comprised several black members, including adults and teenagers as young as fourteen.
The two respondents, Kanye and his former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos allegedly subjected these staff to forced labor and inhumane treatment. Per the lawsuits, Kanye West and Milo falsely promised to pay employees, including minors who worked “insanely long hours” against their will. Additionally, these employees claim they endured racist jabs and the company’s white managers even labeled them with disparaging terms like “slaves” and “new slaves.”
Despite working remotely, the managers bullied the team through communication mediums like Slack, Zoom, and Discord. Kanye West allegedly forced the team to sign NDAs threatening to fire or refuse to pay anyone who refused, per the lawsuit. Additionally, the minors had to sign volunteer agreements, despite Milo’s promise to pay $120,000 to the group upon completion of the project under the degrading conditions.
Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori, although not named as a defendant, took a hit as well, with the lawsuit claiming she sent adult film videos to staff members, which even the minors among them could access. It followed Kanye’s April 2024 announcement of the launch of his adult film company called Yeezy Porn.
The lawsuit claimed Bianca sent a staff member a file-sharing link to a pornographic video. Minors, who worked with the team developing the app had full access to the video as part of the job requirement. Sadly after enduring such disparaging treatment for months, Kanye West and Milo went back on their words, failing to pay the developer team, hence the lawsuit. The suit demands damages “for unpaid wages,” overtime pay, and emotional distress.
