As you progress through the planetscapes and star systems of Starfield, you’ll take on quests that will put you face-to-face with some very tough decisions. In the early-game mission titled Mantis, you will be confronted with whether you should kill Livvey. That said, let’s go over the consequences of whether you should spare or kill Livvey in Starfield.
Is It Better To Spare or Kill Livvey in Starfield?
You will encounter Livvey as you progress through the Mantis quest. When you speak with him, you’ll be given the chance to attack him as a dialogue choice, prompting you to make a moral decision. You will never see this NPC again, so in our experience, killing him doesn’t yield any notable negative or positive consequences. It is ultimately up to you what you do with him, but we decided to kill him and loot his body.
What Happens If You Kill Livvey?
If you decide to kill Livvey, you can loot his body for different items. It is also important to note that no one will miss him, nor will anyone be upset if he disappears. In our playthrough, he didn’t possess anything notable beyond the following:
- 1046 credits
- Brown Leather Jumpsuit
- Eon
You can decide to do this either before or after you talk to him via just straight-up shooting him before he has a chance to speak or choosing the dialogue option in which you attack him. He doesn’t have the solution to the Mantis puzzle, so it doesn’t matter what ends up happening to him. You also have the choice to either spare him or simply ask him to leave.
What Happens If You Spare Livvey?
Sparing Livvey does nothing for the story and certainly doesn’t help you. As explained, he does not hold the answer to the upcoming puzzle, and he doesn’t offer you anything for sparing his life or asking him to leave. It would be a moral justification not to kill him.
Still, it ultimately wouldn’t matter. In our experience, your companions don’t seem to bat an eye at it either, thus confirming that it doesn’t really matter whether you spare or kill Livvey in Starfield. Hopefully, this gives you better insight into your final decision so that you don’t need to be left hanging about what to do with him.
