The Hammer Falls is the very last mission that you need to complete in order to complete the quest line for the Freestar Rangers in Starfield. This quest requires an incredibly large decision to be made, which will either fill your pockets or fill your desire for justice. Regardless of your choice, one needs to be made. Considering that should you spare or kill Ron Hope in Starfield when the time comes to make that choice? Be careful, as the rest of this guide will spoil the rest of this quest.

There aren’t that many decisions in Starfield that don’t end with some sort of consequence. When it comes to the Freestar Rangers, that sentiment is no different. However, the decision to spare or kill Ron Hope doesn’t really hinge on too much, even though all of the dialogue options thus far seem to prove otherwise. Ron is guilty of having poisoned farmland in order to make it richer in minerals and then trying to drive away the farmers that were there by using force. Once you get wind of this, he will try to bribe you for the evidence and try to guilt you into not arresting him as doing so would cause a political collapse as well as cost thousands of employees to lose their jobs. Knowing all of this, however, which should you really choose to do?

Spare Ron Hope

If you spare Ron Hope, then your companions won’t like you, and he’ll offer you a bribe of 20,000 credits. The man is the owner of a huge corporation, so you can try to squeeze a few more credits out of him if you can use the negotiation skills to get 50,000 credits instead. This option doesn’t require anyone to go to jail or die, which is what we will cover if you decide to kill him instead.

Kill Ron Hope

If you decide to get him arrested, Ron won’t go down without a fight. In the battle between you and him, just shoot him down and loot his body to make your decision. No, you won’t get as big of a payday, but the company will do just fine without him, and you’ll have served justice. At that point, just go back to the Freestar Rangers and let them know what happened.
