The release date of the remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team is only days away from its highly anticipated release, and the size of the game has been shared online. The source for this information is PlayStation Game Size on X (formerly Twitter), a consistently reliable source of insider knowledge.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will come in at a total of 50.5 GB, which, considering today’s standards, isn’t that large. Especially when compared to games like Call of Duty which can go well above 100 GB. The game will come out in the first week of October, but different people can preload it at different times depending on which version of the game they purchased.
Anyone who bought the Deluxe Edition of Silent Hill 2 Remake will be able to preload the game starting October 4 and can start playing it by the early release date on October 6. But those who opted for the cheaper Standard Edition can start preloading the game on October 6 and be prepared for its official release on October 8.
Bloober Team, who is working on the remake, is known for The Medium and Layers of Fear, both of which have a solid following. The remake of Silent Hill 2 is based on the original that came out way back in 2001 on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox and scared the socks off those who went in unprepared.
Since the original game is so old, the Silent Hill 2 Remake doesn’t just improve upon the visuals, but the gameplay as well. Bloober Team promises improved graphics, controls, gameplay improvements like new areas, updated combat, 3D audio, and an overall longer play-time compared to the original.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake is coming out on October 8 on the PlayStation 5 and PC only for now. It will likely come out on Xbox Series S|X as well, but probably after a year or so.
