Back in 2022, an unnamed Silent Hill title was given a rating in South Korea. This sparked speculation about the future of the franchise. Fast forward to 2023, and we were treated to the news of a Silent Hill 2 Remake, but that’s not all. Bloober Team and Konami are wrapping up the game as we speak. So what about a release date for Silent Hill 2’s Remake?
Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date?
After months of speculation and anticipation, it was announced back in October that Bloober Team, the studio responsible for Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and The Medium was taking control of the title’s development.
It was in an interview(Bankier) with the CEO of Bloober Team, Piotr Babieno that new information about Silent Hill 2 Remake came to light. Piotr stated that the game has been finished from beginning to end, but it’s not polished for the most part.
You could play the game from beginning to end but it’s possibly rough around the edges. So what about Silent Hill 2’s release date?
‘Silent Hill 2 is technically ready. It does not mean that the game is finished, but we are close.” – CEO of Bloober Team
But it all comes down to Konami whether they want to speed up the polishing process and announce an official release date. It’s quite likely we’ll get further trailers for the title sometime in the future and hopefully, we could see Silent Hill 2’s Remake popping off with a 2024 release date.
“However, the issue of the release schedule lies with our partners, what the promotion will look like and when the title will debut is not directly in our hands.”
Silent Hill 2 will release on the PS5 as a console exclusive at a later date for the PC. The original creators of the franchise such as Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito are also working closely on the project.
Bloober is also working on another project that’s set to release sometime later. In the blistering summer of June, we’ll be treated to a Layers of Fear Remake. But that’s not all, the company is also working on a new standalone survival horror IP.
