Sadly, during Pride month there’s lot of homophobia. You might see anti-pride protests, festivals that exclude LGBTQ+, or preacher’s rambling anti-pride messages. And it’s the latter which recently riled up a man in Ohio, who got annoyed by a Christian preacher. The preacher was seen standing on a street wearing a microphone to amplify his voice. He had a book in his hands, which was probably the Bible, and was using it to make statements against the LGBTQ+ community. It seems like the guy is known in Ohio because someone got tired of seeing him and hearing what he has to say. So they decided to act in their own way.
A passenger pulled up in a car that stood right next to the preacher, who was still talking as if someone cared. The person in the car then proceeded to blast a siren to drown out the noise of the guy. This, of course, was kind of infuriating for him. The preacher started searching for a passage in the Bible before heading toward the siren-blasting Ohio passenger. He tried to keep reading out Bible verses and continue his preaching while standing at the car’s window. The best part? He failed miserably because the siren drowned out his voice. Thankfully, no one watching the video had to struggle and listen to the guy’s hate. He backs off once he realizes he isn’t going to win this, and while the siren is still on, the car drives away. Mission accomplished.
People Reacting to the Anti-Pride Ohio Preacher
It’s safe to say that most reactions favored the passenger and his siren. Many believed that this was the perfect way to deal with the Ohio preacher. One person even wrote, “Pest control at its finest.” That’s one way to describe it. Someone else said, “What’s stronger? The Word of God™ or a petulant WEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOHHHH WEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOH.” I think that the latter won today. Another person agreed that the siren was the winner here, “What a power move. Where’s your god now, I got $20 worth of ambulance siren and I’m going to let her ride.” The effectiveness of the siren was enough to convince several people to buy it online. There is even a sale on it currently.
Several also doubted the Ohio preacher’s sanity as someone said, “Undiagnosed schizophrenic kind.” One Redditor shared the same opinion and wrote, “People making religious displays in public like that are f**king beyond crazy.” Not to mention the decent number of people who called the guy a loser. One example was someone saying, “What a looser…think about spending the day spewing hate on the corner…what kind of person does that?” In case someone comes across an anti-pride preacher soon, one kind commentator suggested what music should be used next. “Circus music would be another excellent choice. Or curb your enthusiasm theme song,” they wrote. Maybe if the siren thing went all over the country, we would have fewer homophobic people. We can try at least.
