Sister Wives fans have been disappointed in the latest season of the TLC show. Most of what fans are seeing play out on television is something they already know about. Anyone who is following any of the Sister Wives cast on social media is likely aware of what’s happened. This has some fans thinking that the show may have run its course.
Sister Wives Fans Want To Know Why They’re Seeing This AGAIN
This season of Sister Wives has been disappointing for many. It shows the breakup of the family, which fans already knew about. In fact, TLC ran specials about the breakups. So, why show it again? That’s what a lot of people are asking themselves about the most recent episode of SW too.
“Did we literally watch a whole season with constant recaps, flashbacks to the same flashbacks they have shown the last 3 season, and now to watch Christine’s wedding, umm did we not watch a whole hour special of Christine’s and David’s wedding,” one viewer vented on Reddit. “This is crazy, this whole season is so far past real time. TlC we are sick of seeing the photos of the brown family at Robys wedding. We’re sick of hearing the word SAFE. This show has ran it’s course.”
Garrison’s Death Has Had An Impact On Season 19
Several fans had theories as to why TLC chose to move forward with the latest season in this way. One person suggested that it had to do with the loss of Kody and Janelle Brown’s son Garrison. In March of 2024, Garrison Brown died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Since then, his family has been open about the struggles he had with his mental health and alcohol abuse.
One person wrote, “It’s pretty clear to me that a large portion of this season was left on the editing floor out of respect for Garrison. they must have had to fill the empty time with all of the wedding arc. yes, it’s not wonderful to have the same things rehashed, but out of respect for Garrison’s passing and the family’s clear choice to keep it out of the show, it’s more than understandable.”
Many Sister Wives fans agreed. TLC producers likely scrubbed any footage including Garrison in it for the sake of the family. “Once they filtered out the G stuff, it’s probably all they had left. After the tragedy I’m sure Janelle wasn’t up to filming anything, and I’d bet many of the kids felt that way, too,” a Redditor summed up.
Others aren’t buying it. “Theres so much potential content and they just fumble. It’s like production is actively trying to make a boring show. We have a huge polygamist family tearing apart all at once. Dig in; enough with this surface level repetitive nonsense,” one person lamented.
That said, TLC is promising some juicy material for Sister Wives fans in the upcoming episode. Despite the slow pace of the first 16 episodes, there are supposedly 10 left. Fans can hope that what will unfold will catch up to where the Browns are in real life.
Sister Wives airs on TLC on Sundays at 10 p.m. EST.
