With all the shake-ups in the Brown family over the last two years, many weren’t sure what the future of Sister Wives would be. Season 18 left off with the family in shambles amid divorces and estrangements. All of that has changed, however, with the events of this week. The entire Brown family is feeling the loss of Garrison Brown. Janelle and Kody’s son died by suicide at 25 earlier this week. With that, it’s believed the family will put the past in the past and come together … with TLC cameras rolling.
Sources Believe TLC Is Filming Sister Wives As the Family Navigates This Time
TLC, the network behind Sister Wives, is typically in production on a new season at this time of year. With filming in the first half of the year, episodes premiere in the fall. However, as fans know, the last season of the reality series was anything but typical. It was believed the family would take a break to recoup after Kody found himself with just one wife and three exes, trying to figure out his new normal.
A person close to production spoke to Radar Online about what’s next.
As sad as it is, his unexpected death came during the timeline of filming. The family is normally always filming — whether it’s actual cameras or on their phones.”

The family has asked the public for privacy in the wake of this tragedy. However, as previously mentioned, the TLC cameras are so familiar that they are almost part of the family. Another source told The Sun this will be featured in the next season of the show.
I can’t imagine any of this won’t be filmed. I just don’t how far this will go and how deep the family will get.”

Kody and Garrison Never Reconciled Before His Death
The Sun‘s source believes the family will come together. Despite everything, it’s thought they’ll let bygones be bygones to celebrate Garrison, but it will be easier for some than others. As one family source told the outlet, father and son never settled their differences.
Sadly, they never made up before Garrison died. I don’t think they had even spoken since Covid times. I know, for a fact, there was no buddy/buddy hangout or friendship. Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time they saw each other. From what I know, the last time they really had an interaction was when they met up and had a big argument on camera.”

It’s also been reported that Garrison texted members of production on the show the day before he was found dead in a concerning episode that alerted mom Janelle to the fact her son might be in trouble. He allegedly sent out a text to several Sister Wives crew members involved with the show reading, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days,” per OK Magazine.
