Members of the Sister Wives family continue to speak out as they grapple with the loss of Garrison Brown. It’s been less than a week since the shocking news that the 25-year-old died by suicide in his Arizona home. On Sunday, big sister Madison “Maddie” Brown Brush shared a photo of her brother with two of her three kids. Maddie remembered her brother’s softer side as the family continues to navigate the unthinkable, unexpected tragedy.
Maddie Remembered Her Brother with a Moving Quote
Maddie Brown Brush is the fourth oldest of Kody Brown‘s kids and was his and Janelle’s second child together. She is just three years older than Garrison, giving her some unique perspective on his loss. She began her Instagram tribute to her brother by sharing a quote.
Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All the unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hallow of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.

Going into her own feelings about Garrison’s death, Maddie admitted she feels like her “words seem to fall short.”
“Our hearts our broken and we are now swallowed with the love now left behind for this beautiful brother 🩵,” she wrote alongside the photo. In the shot, Garrison sits with Maddie’s two older kids, Axel and Evangalynn, on his lap as they look up at the sky with a telescope.
“God be with you till we meet again,” she continued. “I’ll see you at the gates of Valhalla, feasting with our ancestors who battled before you,” Maddie wrote. “Until then, we must live in a more gray world without the light you brought.”
Christine Brown Also Remembered Garrison’s Love of His Siblings
On Friday, Christine Brown shared a time-lapse video that showed Garrison building a flower bed for little sister Truely, who wanted to try her hand at gardening. The sweet gesture was the kind of thing you could expect from the 25-year-old, she recalled.
Garrison was a wonderful, caring brother who understood Truely’s need for a hobby and built her a flowerbed. We’ll miss him forever. #gratitude #missyou #loveyou #tellthoseyoulovethatyoulovethem.”
