Sega and Netflix have shared the official first trailer of Sonic Prime season 2. The new trailer for the second season of the hit animated series was showcased during the June 2023 Sonic Central presentation.
Sonic Prime season 2 is slated to premiere on Netflix on July 13, 2023. No news for season 3 has been shared at this time.
Here’s What to Expect in Sonic Prime Season 2
Sega and Netflix shared a first look at Sonic Prime season 2 back in May 2023 via various screenshots of episodes. The release date was also shared. The information gave a glimpse of what fans could expect following the final episode of season 1, “There’s No Arrgh in Team!”, in which Sonic and Shadow finally encounter one another in the void.
Sonic Prime season 2 will pick up right where season 1 left off, as seen in the trailer. It will see Sonic and Shadow forced to work together to save spacetime. They will team up to find and collect the various pieces of the Paradox Prism scattered across Shatterspace in order to put them back together and repair the rift Sonic created in the fabric of reality.
The members of the Egg Council and new foes will be in hot pursuit as they traverse the multiverse, including what appears to be a brand-new villain that is the Sonic Prime version of Metal Sonic. He is noticeably different from his in-game counterpart and was likely developed by the members of the Egg Council.
Sonic Prime is currently slated for 24 episodes on Netflix. Season 2 will include a total of 8 episodes as well. There is currently no news on the final season, although it is possible it will air sometime in 2024.
