Sony has finally provided a more updated version of the various PlayStation Plus subscription tiers. Yet, while the new service may be on the way in just another month’s time, fans are still curious. Since Sony disabled the ability to stack PlayStation Plus subscriptions yesterday, the company confirmed the temporary decision today. While this is as suspected, in preparation for the rollout of the new subscription tiers, Sony has also provided a brand new upgrade path. Confusing many subscribers of PS Plus and even PS Now, the changes to PlayStation Plus confused many at the time of its announcement. While the new tiers may seem confusing, there is a provided chart to help understand PS Plus subscription upgrades.

How Will The New PlayStation Plus Subscription Tier Upgrades Work?
While the existing PlayStation Plus is becoming PS Plus Essential, there are two new versions of the service that will offer more. PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium offer exclusive features not available in tiers below them. For example, extra offers a catalog of titles similar to the PS Plus collection; this new service will offer PS5 titles as well. Premium allows for downloadable and streaming games from multiple PlayStation generations. These tiers will be available for existing time on PS Plus subscription upgrades, including prepaid cards. The conversion ratio of 1 month can either be 17 days of premium or 20 days of extra. While the actual conversions are more or less the same, PS Now vouchers account for much more time. Stretching this out to long-term year-long vouchers, the conversion ratio runs thinner. Users looking for prepaid cards would need two 12-month cards for a year’s worth of premium. While the new PlayStation service doesn’t roll out until early June, users looking to stock up should be doing so now.
