Sophie Turner continues to give insight into her marriage to Joe Jonas, sharing what went wrong. The former power couple called it quits in September 2023 when the singer filed for divorce. Although the British actress has since moved on with her new beau, she can’t help but look back at the good and bad times she shared with Jonas.
Turner got into a reflective mood in a recent interview with Harper’s Baazar, explaining how the divorce affected her. “I’m going through a legal process right now where I can’t really say much, but it was incredibly sad,” she said of their split. “We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard.” Despite the difficult experience, the Game of Thrones star feels nothing but gratitude about her new life chapter. She told the publication:
“I’m so happy to be back. It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London, with my friends and family.”
The 26-year-old lamented about how she was away from her loved ones during her pregnancies. “I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, ‘I never got to touch your belly.’ We didn’t have those key experiences with each other,” she recalled. Although Turner tried to find slices of her British life in America, she says the political climate made her feel “it was time to get the f*** out of there.”
Joe Jonas Feels Sophie Turner’s New Romance Is A ‘Slap In The Face’
Turner’s interview comes days after her tribute to her boyfriend, Pearson Peregrine, reportedly rubbed Jonas the wrong way. Earlier this week, the Northampton marked her new man’s 30th birthday with a PDA-filled post. She praised the British aristocrat for being an “angel” alongside photos of them kissing.
According to sources, the Camp Rock alum felt betrayed by the post. “Joe feels like Sophie’s over-the-top birthday love post for Peregrine ‘her angel’ is a slap in the face, considering she’s been with him since the moment Joe filed for divorce,” an insider said of the situation. He also thought the timing of the post was insensitive. Unfortunately, fans think Jonas has no right to feel salty, given he was the one who pulled the plug on the marriage.
