Tom Homan sparked fury online after telling critics to “shut their mouths” and warning of further bloodshed during a Fox News interview following the fatal shooting of a Colombian national by an ICE agent in Maine.
Speaking to host Laura Ingraham, Homan blamed Democrats for encouraging resistance to immigration officers and claimed hostile rhetoric was putting agents and the public at risk.
“There is still going to be more bloodshed unless they shut their mouths and let ICE enforce the laws that they enacted,” he said.
The video quickly reached Reddit, where users accused Homan of sounding incoherent and appearing impaired during the interview. There is no evidence in the supplied material that Homan was intoxicated, but that did not stop viewers from piling on.
“Sounds drunk,” one of the thread’s most popular comments read.
Another user pointed to what they described as “angry, indignant slurring speech,” while somebody else claimed he sounded like he had “a mouthful of marbles.”
Others reached for less clinical descriptions. One commenter called him an “angry ham,” while another settled on “talking thumb.”
Internet Compares Homan’s Warning to an Abuser’s Threat
Beyond the mockery, many commenters focused on the substance of Homan’s remarks.
“Classic abuser tactics,” one user wrote. “It’s your fault. Let me do it, or it’ll be worse.”
Another compared the warning to the phrase “Look what you made me do,” while the original poster responded with: “Don’t make me hit you again.”
The backlash followed the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old Colombian national during an ICE operation in Biddeford, Maine.
ICE said officers attempted to stop a vehicle leaving an address connected to a person with a final removal order. According to the agency, the driver tried to flee and an officer fired after fearing for public safety.
Officials later said the man who was killed was not the target of the immigration warrant.
The ICE agent involved was placed on leave pending an investigation, while witnesses reported hearing several gunshots. Local lawmakers identified the deceased as Joan Sebastian Guerrero and said he left behind a wife and three-year-old daughter.
The Maine shooting drew protests in Biddeford and renewed scrutiny of ICE tactics, particularly after another migrant was fatally shot during a Texas traffic stop one week earlier.
On Reddit, sympathy for the agency was scarce.
“Comply or die is not freedom,” one person wrote.
Another said the public was simply asking ICE to follow the same rules expected of other law enforcement agencies, including wearing identification and remaining accountable.
Homan’s appearance appeared to deepen that anger, with users treating his warning not as reassurance, but as a threat aimed at anyone questioning how ICE operates.
