There’s nothing like a good, heartwarming story to help get your day going. While scrolling through TikTok, I couldn’t help but stop at a video by a creator named curiouskento. In the video, he talks about a massive regret he’s had in nearly 20 years of marriage, which he decides to share with us. Let me tell you, the story that the South Carolina native shares is nothing short of incredible and, honestly, a little hard to believe!
The video posted to TikTok by South Carolina creator curiouskento discusses how many years ago, he and his wife were experiencing financial difficulties. To help themselves out of this financial hole, his wife suggested that they sell a valuable ring that had belonged to an aunt of hers who had passed away. Despite not wanting to, the TikToker decided to sell the ring to someone he knew so that he could propose to his then-girlfriend.
Fast forward a few years, and the TikToker decides to reach out to the friend whom he had sold the ring to and ask him how his life was going. Unfortunately, that friend had revealed that life wasn’t going as planned, and both he and his wife were actually facing divorce. The story continues for a few more years when the TikTok creator decides to reach out to his friend’s ex-wife to inquire about the ring.
After many years and another marriage, the woman had decided to hold onto the ring simply because the TikToker had inquired about it once before. The story ends with the woman offering to sell the ring back at the same price that her ex-husband had bought it for, despite having had minor modifications done to it. One TikTok user was so excited that they replied, “What a great story! Show us the ring!“
Curiouskento made an update video letting people know that the ring was not only in his possession but that he was able to surprise his wife with it during a dinner. Viewers were in such awe of the story that the comments were flooded with praise for this man’s dedication to his wife, almost a decade after the initial story of having to sell the ring. It just goes to show that the people who care about you will always find ways to show it.
