Shoppers at a Columbia, South Carolina, Publix were left stunned (and a little amused) after a white SUV plowed straight into the store’s front entrance in a scene that looked more like an action movie than a grocery run. Video from the aftermath shows the vehicle perched at an awkward angle, its hood shoved through the glass entryway, mangled metal framing all around it. Outside, yellow caution tape blocked off the area as curious onlookers gathered, while inside, Publix employees swept up shattered glass around the lodged car.
According to the local news, the Columbia Fire Department said crews were called to the store on North Two Notch Road around 11:20 a.m. Officials say the vehicle barreled into safety bollards outside the building before smashing into part of the glass entryway. The driver and a pedestrian suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Their identities have not yet been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Thuy, a nail artist at Nu Nail Bar in the same shopping center, told reporters she heard the loud impact. “The car had gone through two poles and straight into the ATM,” she recalled. “Afterward, a wrecker came to kind of pull the car out, but it had to lift the car off the poles and then pull it out that way.” Despite the chaos, Thuy said the business stayed open. “They still had people going in and out though, which is kind of crazy. Everyone was stopping to take pictures.”

It’s unclear exactly what caused the crash, but social media had thoughts. “You can’t park there,” one person deadpanned, while another doubled down, “I hope they know they can’t park there.” Someone else admitted, “I promise you I would NOT be getting out that car… wayyy too embarrassing.”
Locals, however, honed in on the location. “I know Columbia when I see it,” one commenter wrote. “Only in Columbia,” another echoed. Others got hyper-specific, shouting out the infamous road, “Riding past Two Notch as I see this” and “MANNNN NOT TWO NOTCH.” Then there were those baffled by the logistics. “How? If you know this parking lot, there’s literally no reason to be going that fast,” one person pointed out.
