Devolver Digital and Vitali Kirpu, the one-man team behind developer Pixel Piracy, today just released Ragnorium, a challenging planet recolonization simulator spanning eons of time Steam Early Access for $24.99. In Ragnorium, you are tasked with leading a small group of cloned colonists into the outer reaches of space, in an attempt to build a self-sustaining society — and to survive an oncoming “Holy Crusade.”

This sci-fi-themed planetary colonization simulator challenges you to establish and shape settlements across multiple eras on harrowing worlds. Ragnorium: Planet Recolonization Odyssey gives you a ton of control over your new galaxy-spanning homes, from discovering new technological marvels to customizing your very army of man-made settlers. Create clones, prepare the dropships with cargo, and set your foot on an inhabited planet to build out a colony using only the basic tools you bring from your home planet. Over time, you will discover new technology eras and utilize new, better materials and equipment.

With the Steam Early Access launch, the content update roadmap for the game also starts. Vitali plans to include more colonist types, planet maps, items, resources, characters, and boss enemies to spice up your journey later down the road.

Although Devolver Digital announced the Early Access release today, Ragnorium actually had been quietly available in an ‘Earliest Access’ form for quite some time, only accessible through a direct link and not searchable on Steam. The two-month private release window allowed Vitali to polish up the game before today’s debut to a wider Steam audience. Thanks to a few thousand players contribution in testing and providing feedback for updates to visuals, sound design, UI, and overall presentation.

Have you tried the game in its Earliest Access phase? Or do you only heard about it just now? Tell us what you think of this latest space-themed building simulator title in the comments below.
