A new series, Spectacular Spider-Men, is bringing Peter Parker and Miles Morales together for their first ongoing series together. From writer Greg Weisman and artist Humberto Ramos, this new Marvel series will introduce a new dynamic for the wall-crawlers’ relationship. Not only will they be friends, but they will also now be work partners. This means they will swap ideas and strategies while combining their strength against foes. Plus, their different ways of tackling problems leave them open to learn from each other.
Spectacular Creators For Spectacular Spider-Men
Marvel is bringing in the big guns for this super team-up. Spectacular Spider-Men comes from the team of Greg Weisman and Humberto Ramos. Weisman is probably best known for writing the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series. He also created the popular Gargoyles. Now, he is bringing the drama and action that made those series fan-favorites to this new series.
Meanwhile, Humberto Ramos is becoming a legend within the Spidey universe. Their work on Amazing Spider-Man is considered some of the best. Not surprising considering the artist has aimed to draw Spider-Man from a young age. Now, Ramos has the distinct opportunity of drawing two Spider-sonas for Spectacular Spider-Men.
New Dynamics
Again, this ongoing team-up series will focus on a new dynamic of Parker and Miles’ relationship. Usually, the two are shown to have more of a mentor/mentee relationship when working in the field. Now, the two have the chance to learn from one another and see how being Spider-Man can differ depending on the person.
While Miles aims to be a more mature Spider-Man with Parker in the field, he does influence his older counterpart. We will see how Peter lets loose as the 16-year-old influences him. It is interesting to see the normal dynamic flip. Especially when dealing with tough enemies, like the Jackal, who will pop up in the debut issue this March.
