Dogs are among the most popular pets in the world, yet there’s one breed that many dog lovers avoid at all costs. The pit bull is well known for being a dangerous and aggressive breed that often attacks people, sometimes even its own owners. Of course, there are plenty of people who deny this claim, saying that pit bulls are just like any other dog and that their breed doesn’t make them inherently aggressive. If you spend enough time on dog forums, you’ll eventually come across people who passionately defend pit bulls. Some love them so much that they even organize competitions and dog shows dedicated specifically to pit breeds. Unfortunately, one of these events in Florida took a terrifying turn.
In a short video shared online, viewers could see a horrifying moment where a judge was attacked by a pit bull during what appeared to be a Florida dog show. In the clip, there are two men and one dog. One man, presumably the owner, was holding the pit bull’s leash, while the other was a judge. The dog, identified as an XL Bully, initially seemed calm as the judge tried to measure the size of the dog’s head.
However, things quickly descended into chaos when the pit bull suddenly jolted forward and tried to bite the judge’s thigh. The judge leaped back in shock, and the owner desperately tried to control the dog. Unfortunately, due to the dog’s sheer size and strength, it managed to break free from the owner’s grip and lunged at the judge again. Thankfully, it seemed that no one was seriously injured, as someone managed to grab hold of the pit bull before it could do any real harm.
Even though no blood was shed that day in Florida, many internet users who saw the video expressed strong disapproval of pit bulls and the dog show itself. Commenters argued that pit bulls are dangerous and that no one should be allowed to keep them as pets. “They are NEVER aggressive, until they are. I don’t trust other people’s dogs,” one user wrote.
Others turned the situation into dark humor, mocking the typical arguments made by pit bull defenders. “Guys, it’s alright. One of the tests is to see how aggressive the dog is. He passed the test by attacking the judge unprovoked,” one Redditor joked.
Many also remarked that it’s incredibly foolish for anyone to treat pit bulls as harmless pets when they were literally bred to be fighting dogs that like to bite and attack. “I love having a Chihuahua. When I go on vacation, I can leave her with my elderly parents and not worry about them being murdered while I’m gone,” another user commented.
