Some people are really particular about their driveways, and if you want to make sure yours stays in tiptop shape, you definitely want to apply a layer of sealcoating to protect it from the sun, weather, and other factors that might cause damage over time. Now, while the process of applying sealcoating is fairly simple, one very important thing to remember is that you have to stay away from it for at least 24 hours while it dries. Don’t walk on it, and certainly don’t drive your vehicle over it. Too bad this Minnesota woman didn’t get the memo.

After hiring The Sealcoating Guys to cover her driveway with a fresh sealcoat in the morning, she apparently decided it was a good idea to drive her Tesla right through the wet surface. The workers had seen a Tesla parked in the garage earlier, but since the woman’s husband had already driven his car out, they assumed that was the only vehicle that needed to leave the property. So, they went ahead and started laying down the sealcoat.

Apparently, that assumption was wrong. Not long after, the woman decided to drive her Tesla straight through the wet sealcoat, leaving deep black tire marks all across her driveway, the sidewalk, and even out onto the street. The worker could only mutter under his breath while he and his coworker tried their best to clean up the mess she had made.

It’s unclear whether the Minnesota woman later complained about The Sealcoating Guys’ work or if the tire marks ended up becoming permanent blemishes on her driveway. Internet users who saw the video could only shake their heads at how easily avoidable the situation was.

“Where’s the common sense? If I’m getting work done on an area of my house that I won’t be able to access for a while, I make sure everything I need is out of there the day before,” one user wrote. Many agreed that the Minnesota woman should have just moved both cars out of the garage before the workers arrived in the first place. There was clearly a lack of communication between them.

“I’ve really noticed that Tesla owners are quickly catching up with BMW owners in terms of entitlement. Escalades are up there too,” another Redditor commented. Others also pointed out that the workers didn’t seem to be putting much effort into cleaning up the tire marks, probably because they were already frustrated, knowing they had warned the woman that driving through the sealcoat would ruin the finish.

“Yeah, I’d really be torn because I take pride in my work, and leaving a job with tire marks would drive me nuts. But honestly, I’d have to leave her with the blemish after she treated me like someone wasting my breath,” another user wrote.
