Spectre and Peanuts Tops US Box Office Again

The following figures are from Box Office Mojo.

The latest James Bond film, Spectre, and The Peanuts Movie faced with stiff competition from three of the newcomers. However, the two films remained at the top spots for the second weekend in a row.

Spectre came in 1st place with an estimated $33.6 million. It has now earned $545 million worldwide, on a $245 million production budget. With a $131 million domestic gross, a majority of its revenue comes from foreign box offices.

The Peanuts Movie is also close to breaking even, with a $91 million global total as of right now. The film cost $95 million to make and earned $$24 million this past weekend. It looks like both films will officially become profitable after next weekend’s box office.

Love the Coopers fare the best out of the new films released this weekend, earning $8.7 million across 2,603 theaters. The Martian continues to hang on, coming in 4th place with $6.7 million.

Steve Jobs continues to struggle at the domestic box office, only pulling in $399 thousand. However, Spotlight opened in an additional 56 theaters, bringing its theater count to 61, earning $1.3 million. The film is shaping up to have a very successful wide release this weekend, November 20th.
