In 2014, Bungie released Destiny, an MMO shooter, for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was a massive hit, to put it in the simplest understatement possible. But while the game might arguably have dried up somewhat in recent months, that doesn’t bother speedrunners in the least. Peruse the game’s section on speedrun.com, and you will immediately see a near-endless list of categories. From all of those, we will feature two: a main story co-op run, and an all-levels co-op run. Both are courtesy of JukesAndStuff and CleverUs3rname, and both videos also follow Clever’s Guardian. Now, click the videos below and face your Destiny.

To complete Destiny’s main story up through Black Garden, only 11 missions, including the Garden itself, are required. The runners accomplish their task in just over 38 minutes in-game time (which cuts out loading screens and the like). This is also a New Game+ run, allowing the earlier stages be stormed through at top speed. Most Destiny runs are done on NG+ in order to achieve the fastest possible times.

The all missions run was streamed on Twitch.

Again from Clever’s point of view, this runs clocks in at just over an hour, a 30-minute time addition to the basic story. Clever mentions on the speedrun.com page that completion may be possible as quickly as under an hour, provided about one-third of a minute can be shaved off of each level. As extensive a game as Destiny is, blasting through it at even this speed is no less than amazing. Aside from the combat, one of the most interesting aspects is watching how the runner handles the Sparrow and trying to replicate the movements.
