  • Agent Set (Best for Early PvP)
  • Heavy Duty Set (Best Budget Elemental Build Set)
  • Falcon Set (Best Budget Crit Build Set)
  • Bastille Set (Best 1-Piece Effect)
  • Renegade Set (Best Sniper/Weakspot Build Set)
  • Lonewolf Set (Best Crit Build Set)
  • Shelterer Set (Best Elemental/Status Build Set)

Once Human might shower you with Starchrom early on, but you’ll soon find out that it’s quite a precious currency. It’s your token for the game’s gacha mechanics and something you need to purchase the game’s most powerful, build-enabling armor sets. With Starchrom (and upgrade materials) being rare and valuable as it is, you’ll do better if you prioritize certain armor sets in Onec Human, and to help you pick, here’s our ranking for the best among them.

Agent Set (Best for Early PvP)

Set Effect 1/4: Head DMG Reduction +10.0%
Set Effect 2/4: Weakspot DMG +10.0%
Set Effect 3/4: Get Bullet Saver effect with every precise kill, Weakspot DMG +15% for 8s. Effect can stack up to 3 times.
Set Effect 4/4: Increase Reload Speed by 20% after killing an enemy; Fire Rate +10% when killing with a Weakspot hit. Effect removed when reloading or switching weapons.
Location: Mystical Crates in the Iron River region (Level 20+)

This is your go-to set if you’re in a PvP server and want to reduce your chances of getting a headshot. At the same time, it also enhances your headshot or weakspot damage so it’s not entirely useless outside of PvP. More than anything, it’s easy to obtain.

Heavy Duty Set (Best Budget Elemental Build Set)

Set Effect 1/4: Max HP +10.0%
Set Effect 2/4: Element DMG (Blaze, Frost, Shock, Blast) + 8%
Set Effect 3/4: After killing an enemy, increase Movement Speed by 20% for 2s and Elemental DMG (Blaze, Frost, Shock, Blast) by 40%, decay over 8s.
Set Effect 4/4: Within 5m, each enemy grants you DMG Reduction +4%. Effect can stack up to 4 times.
Location: Mystical Crates in the Chalk Peak region (Level 30+)

If you’re a budding Power Surge, Burn, or Frost build and you find the Shelterer Set too expensive, then this is your other best option. You can actually ignore the final 4/4 set effect since it’s not that beneficial in the late game, especially against boss fights. Again, this is easy to obtain and won’t drain your Starchrom.

Falcon Set (Best Budget Crit Build Set)

Set Effect 1/4: Rolling Stamina cost -20%.
Set Effect 2/4: Crit DMG +12.0%
Set Effect 3/4: When Stamina is over 90%, increase Crit Rate by 5% and Crit DMG by 20%.
Set Effect 4/4: Max Stamina +25. Recover 30 Stamina instantly with a kill.
Location: Mystical Crates in the Red Sands region (Level 40+)

Between this and the Heavy Duty Clothing set, it’s a toss-up though you might want to opt for this one if you’re rocking a Shrapnel, Crit, or a sniper build. Consider it as your stepping stone armor set until you can obtain the more powerful Lonewolf Set. You can also thankfully ignore the final 4/4 set effect since it’s not really that helpful.

Bastille Set (Best 1-Piece Effect)

Set Effect 1/4: When HP is above 70%, Weapon DMG +10%
Set Effect 2/4: Reload Speed +20.0%
Set Effect 3/4: Stay crouched and immobile for 0.5 seconds to enter Bastille state, which grants +40% Weapon DMG. Upon exiting Bastille state, sprinting is disabled for 3 seconds and C stamina consumption is increased by 100%.
Set Effect 4/4: 3s after exiting Bastille state, gain 1 stack of Armor per second, up to 60 stacks. While in Bastille state, each stack of Armor provides a Shield equal to 1% of max HP. If the shield drops to 0 during Bastille state, you gain a 30% Vulnerability effect.

You will want this set for its 1-piece set effect, all the other effects are not great and are too clunky to use, particularly the 3rd and 4th effects. In any case, the 1-piece set effect is one of the most generous conditional damage boosts in the game, especially when you’re always getting a Sanity debuff to your HP.

Renegade Set (Best Sniper/Weakspot Build Set)

Set Effect 1/4: Reload Speed +15.0%
Set Effect 2/4: Weakspot DMG +10.0%
Set Effect 3/4: Hitting the same enemy consecutively grants 1 stack of Archer’s Focus, increasing Weakspot DMG by 4%, up to 10 stacks. Archer’s Focus stacks are halved when the target is changed.
Set Effect 4/4: When reloading, for every 1% of weakspot hit from the previous magazine, load an extra 0.6% bullets, up to 30%.
Location: Wish Machine

Weakspot shooting in Once Human never gets old and the best armor set for that endeavor would be none other than the Renegade Set. Note that it also works for other builds, not just Sniper Rifles and that 4-piece effect is quite interesting to pull off on fast-firing weapons.

Lonewolf Set (Best Crit Build Set)

Set Effect 1/4: Magazine Capacity +10.0%
Set Effect 2/4: Crit Rate +5.0%
Set Effect 3/4: Get 1 stacks of Lone Shadow with every 2 weapon crit hit(s). Lone Shadow: Crit DMG + 6% for 30s. The effect can stack up to 8 times.
Set Effect 4/4: Increase max Lone Shadow stacks to 10. After a kill, Crit Rate +8% for 2s.

Shrapnel builds or any other builds that rely on a high Crit Rate will love this armor set in Once Human. It almost has no wasted set effect, and it rewards you if you keep stacking Crit Rate. It’s a fun synergy overall and might even allow you to burst down Hard-mode bosses in just a few seconds or minutes.

Shelterer Set (Best Elemental/Status Build Set)

Set Effect 1/4: Status DMG Reduction +15.0%
Set Effect 2/4: Element DMG (Blaze, Frost, Shock, Blast) + 8%
Set Effect 3/4: Each weapon hit grants 1 stack of Deviant Energy. Every stack of Deviant Energy grants 1% Elemental DMG (Blaze, Frost, Shock, Blast). Effect can stack up to 20 times. Reloading removes half of the total stacks.
Set Effect 4/4: Increase max Deviant Energy stack by 10. Grant 2 additional stacks when hitting a weakspot.
Location: Wish Machine

With how popular the elemental builds are in Once Human, I would advise you to collect the Shelterer Set even if you won’t be using it for this season. It’s that good and almost universal. Only a couple of top builds won’t benefit from this. Any other overpowered elemental damage build like Power Surge, Burn, Frost, or even Unstable Bomber (Jaws) is going to be more satisfying thanks to the Shelterer armor set in Once Human.
