Developer Thunder Lotus Games has released a brand new teaser for the upcoming Spiritfarer. The game is billed as a cozy management game about dying and utilizes a beautiful hand-drawn art style. Players will control Stella, a ferry master for spirits as they move on to the afterlife. You can check out the new trailer below:
New Platforms For Spiritfarer
The gameplay of Spiritfarer will consist of crafting, fishing, farming, and anything else Stella’s spirit friends need on their journey. Stella will also build up her boat with accommodations for the spirits as she gains more passengers. While the previous two trailers showed much of this, the newest shows a lot more of the platforming elements. Stella can use her hat to float through gusts of wind and zip-line quickly down rope, for example. The trailer also showed new spirits and environments.
Additionally, the trailer brings news of two new platforms Spiritfarer will launch on in, Google Stadia and the Epic Games Store. The game’s creative director, Nicolas Guérin, conveyed his team’s excitement in a statement:
The new teaser certainly does accurately convey the forward momentum that our production has at this point! The game has only grown grander and more varied over the past few months, and it’s great to finally be giving a spotlight to some of the awesome new levels and characters the team has been creating. We’re excited to be adding Stadia and Epic Games Store to our list of launch platforms as well, since we’ve had many requests for this from our fans.”
The more players that will be able to experience Spiritfarer, the better. The game will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, GOG, Mac, and Linux. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass. No matter your platform of choice, Spiritfarer will launch on it later this year.
