Dualies are some of the most versatile weapons in Splatoon 3, not only because of their dodge roll allowances for players but because of their range concerning damage, distance, and kit. In our Splatoon 3 weapon tier list, we’ll look at each Dualie to explain their strengths and weaknesses. If you’re having trouble deciding what Splatoon 3 Dualie to use, look no further than our recommendation.
Splatoon 3 Weapon Tier List: Dualies
(Updated on August 27, 2024 – updated links and format)
Dualies are all fun to wield because of the dodge roll that comes with them. However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that all dualies are created equal. Some fire slower but more powerful shots, while others have more dodge rolls available than the standard Splat Dualie set. Another aspect to take into consideration is the Kit that your Dualie uses. We’ll review all that and more below with our Splatoon 3 weapon tier list to help you determine what set of Dualies matches your unique playstyle.
6. Glooga Dualies
The Glooga Dualies are the slowest but most hard-hitting weapons in the game. Second-to-one strike splat weapons, the Glooga Dualies, are the pair you need to pick up. If you enjoy a weapon that fires heavy hits, this one is for you. One thing to keep in mind about the Glooga Dualies is that they are slow in every respect. This includes the dodge rolls. So think again if you’re picking these hard hitters up expecting to dodge roll your way out of danger the second it appears. Glooga Dualies require practice and have a learning curve, which is why it’s at the bottom of our list.
Considering the Kit for the Glooga Dualies, they leave much to be desired. For a Sub weapon, the Glooga Dualies come with the Splash Wall, which can be great for suppressing enemy fire. However, considering that the Glooga Dualies aren’t that much of a long-range weapon, the Splash Wall becomes somewhat useless in the face of it. The Glooga Dualies do pack a great Special, however: the Booyah Bomb. Charge this up, and you can have every enemy fleeting your presence and running for cover. This Special works especially well with the Glooga Dualies because it gives you the space you need to prepare for enemy fire, even if your weapon is slow.
5. Dapple Dualies
Next on our list is the Dapple Dualies. Concerning strength, fire rate, and shot distance, this set is similar to the standard Splat Dualies. That makes them pretty standard, faster than the Glooga Dualies, at the very least. With the Dapple Dualies, there is no wrong answer. It can contend with any other Dualie or Shooter out there with the proper controls and aim.
The only thing to worry a player concerning this set is the Kit. Unfortunately, this kit doesn’t have what you need for those who enjoy an in-your-face style of fighting in Splatoon 3. The Dapple Dialies sport a Squid Beakon for the Sub weapon. This is fantastic if you want to help lead the battle, giving players a chance to drop in at precise locations. If you don’t care for it, maybe the Dapple Dualies aren’t for you. As for the Special, it has the ultimate support type one out there: The Tacticooler.
4. Dapple Dualies Nouveau
Similar to the Dapple Dualies, the Noveau version of these guns offers an entirely different experience. Despite having the same damage output and range as the Dapple Dualies, the Dapple Dualies Noveau is an entirely different beast simply because of the kit. The Dapple Dualies Noveau has the Torpedo as a Sub weapon, allowing players to track others down and estimate their location before starting a fight. It can also be useful in disrupting key situations, such as in a Splat Zone challenge or Tower Control. As for the Special, the Dapple Dualies Noveau the Reefslider, an especially offensive and quick Special that can take out any unaware enemies clustered in one place.
3. Splat Dualies
The Splat Dualies are the best weapons to start with if you’ve never held a pair of Dualies before. They have a standard range, power, and dodge-rolling capabilities that can help you get used to how Dualies work. You can use the Splat Dualies to learn how to dodge roll or get a good feel for aiming with two hit zones instead of one. As for any Dualie, these Splat Dualies aren’t the best for turfing but are great for attacking. As a standard weapon, the Splat Dualies come with the Suction Bomb and the Crab Tank. Both are excellent for attacking at close and far range, making these Dualies the essential pick if you’re interested in plain and simple offense.
2. Dark Tetra Dualies
The Dark Tetra Dualies take the second spot in our list due to their versatility and pure dodging power. Take one round with the Dark Tetra Dualies equipped, and you’ll undoubtedly see why they’re some of the best Splatoon 3 Dualies. They dodge not just three times but six times in total. While the dodge itself isn’t as robust as any other Dualie, the dodges are fast, which is essentially all they need to be. The Dark Tetra Dualies come with an Autobomb as the Sub weapon, making it easier for them to take on longer-ranged weapons. As a special, it has the Reefslider, making it great for dodging and attacking with a huge offensive special.
1. Dualie Squelchers
The top Splatoon 3 Dualies on our list are the Dualie Squelchers. The first reason these are the best is because of their impressive range. Nothing can beat the Dualie Squelchers range-wise, save for a few shooters and the Jet Squelcher, which the weapon is based on. Out of all the Splatoon 3 Dualies that we have so far, the Dualie Squelchers are easily the most versatile and balanced. Because of their range, not much can get close to you. Add a few dodge rolls onto that formula, and you have a long-range weapon that can behave like a short-range one. This makes the Dualie Squelchers perfect for any kind of fight. They match up well with most weapons.
The only disadvantage one can find with the Dualie Squelchers is that the firing rate is just slightly slower than the Splat Dualies. While that might be an issue for those accustomed to using Splat Dualies exclusively, this firing rate is still much higher than many other shooters. For the damage output, the Squelchers are amazing for their rate, needing only four hits to splat. Concerning this weapon kit, you have everything you need for a nice, balanced weapon. For the Sub weapon, you have the Splat Bomb, which can be launched at even long-distance foes. For the Special, you have Wave Breaker, a pretty non-commital Special that you can place anywhere. You can place it strategically if you want to focus on the Special. If you’d rather just get it out of the way, Wave Breaker is flexible and easy enough to use.
