Zynga has announced that Star Wars: Hunters is making its way onto PC with a 2025 release date. But you can get your hands on the game a lot before its eventual release. A Steam-only playtest has been announced that will take place from December 13 to 16. And then a little over a month after that, on January 27, Star Wars: Hunters will go into early access for everyone to try out.
Star Wars: Hunters is being developed by NaturalMotion, and published by Zynga, which is owned by Take-Two Interactive. The game will be a free-to-play team-based arena combat shooter. The game was originally announced back in February 2021 and was planned for release then too. But then the title got delayed multiple times and finally came out in June 2024 for the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
The Steam page of Star Wars: Hunters says that the early access version will bring everything from the mobile and Nintendo Switch versions of the game; this includes the core gameplay, game modes, and hunters.
The developer also announced that it is expected that the game will remain in early access until mid-2025; it will take time for the PC experience to be as good as the team wants it to be. Once player feedback has been taken into account and necessary changes have been made, Star Wars: Hunters can leave early access and aim for a full release.
Since the game hasn’t had a full console release either, the PC version will come with a lot more features. This includes some PC-focused features and optimizations for each new season of the title. In addition to improved gameplay, fans can expect performance improvements and feedback incorporation.
No concrete release date has been announced for Star Wars: Hunters, but if the plans are anything to go by, a June-August 2025 release date is possible.
