Marvel Comics is releasing the first issue of its five-part miniseries Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – Dark Temple this September 4th. The miniseries itself is officially called Dark Temple and is set up as a leading story to the highly anticipated video game from Respawn Entertainment titled Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The story in the comics will follow Jedi Master Eno Cordova and his Padawan Cere Junda. It will also feature the Jedi hunter known as the Second Sister, one of the Inquisitors originally featured in the acclaimed Star Wars: Rebels television series.
The summary of the Dark Temple comic has been given as:
The Jedi Knights are gone and forgotten. Destroyed by their ancient enemies – the Sith – after a long civial war engineered to bring about their downfall and a new age: the Age of the Empire. But not long before, the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Loyal to the Republic for more than 1,000 generations and well trained in the many mystical powers of the Force. The order dispersed its wise and powerful warriors to settle disputes, seek knowledge, and keep the peoples of countless star systems safe. And the bond of one Jedi team, a master and an apprentice, is about to be tested like never before. There are some threats that are far too insidious . . . and far too ancient to be overcome with just the swing of a lighstaber. Jedi training cannot prepare a padawan student for everything . . .”
The comics are written by Matthew Rosenberg along with artist Paolo Villanelli, colorist Arif Prianto, letterer Joe Sabino, and cover artist Marco Checchetto.
The video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15th. It is currently available for pre-order for all three platforms on EA’s website.
