Star Wars: Rogue One is still two months away from its big December 16th release, and while the excitement is high, that isn’t what has fans across the galaxy buzzing at the moment. Two weeks before Rogue One hits theaters, gamers will be able to download “Knights of the Eternal Throne”- a new expansion pack for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
BioWare, a developer under Electronic Arts, released a six minute CG trailer for the expansion entitled, “Betrayed”. The trailer has only been online for a short period of time, but viewers have quickly praised it for looking almost as life-like and cinematic as the actual Star Wars films. There is even a petition circulating to create a Netflix series.
In ‘Knights of the Eternal Throne’, players will take on the role of the Outlander, a veteran in the Great Galactic War, and lead the Alliance. The mission? Take down two the of the most powerful villains in the galaxy, Empress Vaylin, and Emperor Valkorion in the ultimate battle to gain control the Eternal Throne. Choices will play a major role in the gameplay experience, as players will have to fight to influence the galaxy for either the light or dark side of the Force, and the decision of who lives and dies is left in your hands.
There are several new additions to ‘Knights of the Eternal Throne’, one being the modes of difficulty. There are three, which include Story, Master, or Veteran mode. The expansion will not only offer a healthy challenge for players, but the modes can be adjusted for those who comfortably wish to see the story play out.
‘Knights of the Eternal Throne’ is the sixth digital expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic and will be released on December 2, 2016. It is available now for pre-order. The trailer below is definitely a must-see!
