The Force Awakens
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information.

It’s here, it happened, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has finally arrived and like many I had an immediate reaction to what I just watched. I “prepared” by re-watching as many of the original trilogies as I could, played some Disney Infinity 3.0, put on my Star Wars t-shirt and headed to the theatre!

SPOILER FREE! Here is a quick video of how I felt going in, watching, and now taking in the newest addition to the Star Wars universe. Let me know what you thought below. If you want to read our full review, we have that too, spoiler free!

Coming into the week, in anticipation for the movie, I was pretty excited. I had a few reservations about it not feeling like Star Wars and just being any other blockbuster from the last few years. As you’ll hear in the video below, I’m happy to report that is not the case.

Some new faces as expected are around, and a ton of new ones. All of them work well together on screen to create a great comradery and build relationships. I won’t spoil anything, but be ready to fall back in love with the original cast and characters. They’re all back to their old selves and the filmmakers did a great job weaving them into the new storyline.

Did you enjoy The Force Awakens? Do you agree or disagree with my thoughts? Fire away in the comments below!

David is a lover of all things nerdy & geeky! (Nerd IS the new cool after all!) From the wee age of 6 he made his way to a Canadian Tire, purchased a SNES for $200 in in-store credit money (Canadian Tire money for Canadians out there), and hasn't looked back! He loves the classics like Donkey Kong, Mario, and Roller Coaster Tycoon, but is deep into the new age of gaming with Heroes of the Storm, Apex Legends, and indies like Thomas Was Alone, and Mark of the Ninja.
