The Force Awakens brought a new era of the Star Wars franchise and the hype for the future films is gigantic. Outside of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, little is known about the upcoming movie’s story. We all know that Rey is seeking training from the legendary Luke Skywalker, but what exactly is that training for? The teaser hints at Luke wanting the Jedi to end, but not much else has been revealed. However, according to a new rumor that was released, Luke’s reason for training Rey may finally be revealed. The rumor was brought to life by MakingStarWars, known for their Star Wars leaks. Their editor-in-chief, Jason Ward had this to say:
“There is a rumor that near the end of the film, Luke is going for Snoke and Rey is going for Kylo. I asked the person that believes this to be true if they have an encounter in the film and they didn’t know for sure. It makes me wonder if we leave off the circumstances of the film with Luke going to embrace that he’s a Jedi again and he’s intent on bringing Snoke and the First Order down? If that’s the case, I wonder what makes him change from being the reluctant master to the Jedi he was supposed to be?” – Jason Ward: Editor-in-Chief at MakingStarWars
This rumor has definitely sparked excitement in the Star Wars realm. Since the teaser trailer was released, fans have been chomping at the bit for more juicy details regarding the upcoming addition to the Sequel Trilogy. Based on the information given before the release of Episode VII in 2015, there may not be that many more details revealed about the plot. We will have to hold out until December 15th to see the story line play out in full on the film’s release.
