Void Essence in Stardew Valley is a monster loot material that is required for a few crafting recipes as well as the Dark Reagent quest. It can also be used as a gift for a few villagers. Needless to say, Void Essence is a lucrative item, but it can be difficult to find. In this guide, we will go over the best places to farm Void Essence in Stardew Valley.
Where to Farm Void Essence
There are two places where you can farm Void Essence in Stardew Valley, but neither of them is player-friendly. As Void Essence is a monster drop, you need to make your way to the Mines or the Skull Cavern.
Once you reach level 80 of the Mines, you will encounter Shadow Brutes, Shadow Shamans, and Haunted Skulls. All three are tough enemies especially when they swarm you as a group, but they each have a chance to drop Void Essence. The Shadow Shamans and Brutes have a 75% chance to drop it while the Haunted Skull has a 1.3%. So, be sure to hunt down the Shamans and Brutes rather than the Skulls.
Our Other Stardew Valley Guides
However, the Shamans and Brutes, while they have a high chance of dropping Void Essence, are not guaranteed to drop them every time. This is where the Serpents from the Skull Cavern come from. Where the Shamans and Brutes have a 75% chance, the Serpents have a 99% chance.
The Skull Cavern is not something you can just walk into, however. You’ll have to make your way to level 120 of the Mines to find the Skull Cavern Key. Once you have it, you will be able to head to the Skull Cavern unhindered. Serpents can be found on every level, and the Skull Cavern essentially has no end. Void Essence can be easily farmed here, but you will have to be careful. The Serpents are difficult enemies who love to swarm. If you pass out, they’ll have to pay 1000 gold and/or lose some items.
