One of the available marriage candidates in Stardew Valley is Sam, and he’s a pretty cool guy. Whether you’re looking to marry him or just become friends, you’ll want to give him his favorite gifts. Wondering what they are? Look no further.

Loved Gifts

Finding some gifts that Sam will love is actually pretty easy. He has four things for which you’ll receive 80 friendship points, outside of the universal loves (covered below). These include Cactus Fruit, Maple Bars, Pizza, and Tigerseye. You’ll receive 8x the friendship points for giving Sam a gift on his birthday, which is Summer 17.

Two of Sam’s gifts are cooked dishes, one of which you’ll have to make — Maple Bars. These are made from maple syrup, sugar, and wheat flour. He also loves Pizza, which you can make from cheese, tomato, and wheat flour, but is in the Saloon’s stock every day.

Tigerseye is a gem that can be found inside Magma Geodes and Omni Geodes. Finally, Cactus Fruit can mainly be grown from Cactus Seeds, found while foraging in the Calico Desert, bought from the Oasis shop.

Liked Gifts

Sam only has a few gifts that he likes, netting you 45 friendship points, outside of the universal likes list. He likes Joja Cola, which is found in abundance while fishing, in trash cans, or from the vending machine (also from JojaMart if it’s still open in your game).

Sam also likes eggs, save for Void Eggs, which he dislikes. Note that Dinosaur Eggs are artifacts, not eggs.

Universal Gifts in Stardew Valley

There is a short list of universally-loved gifts in Stardew Valley, and Sam is no exception to any of the items on it. It includes Prismatic Shards, rabbit’s feet, Magic Rock Candy, the Golden Pumpkin, and pearls.

There are also some universal likes. These include maple syrup, Life Elixir, and most items from the following categories: artisan goods, cooked dishes, flowers, foraged minerals, gems, vegetables, and fruit tree fruits. Sam isn’t an exception to most of these items, but he does dislike most vegetables and he hates duck mayonnaise, regular mayonnaise, and pickles.

Hopefully, this helps you out in wooing Sam or simply becoming his friend in Stardew Valley. If it does, be sure to let me know in the comments below. As well, share it around so it can help others!
