Today, Luminous Productions and Bethesda’s newest game Forspoken showcased their gameplay trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play. Coming along with various titles as part of the frequent showcase, Forspoken is one of the various releases coming from Square Enix over the next year. Along with Strangers of Paradise releasing at the end of the month. Forspoken will arrive on PlayStation and PC in late May.
Transport to the World of Athia
Players will step into the shoes of Frey Holland, a young woman who magically transports from New York City to the fantasy world of Athia. Granted magical powers to assist on her journey as she attempts to survive this new land in front of her. Meet with various characters as you all try to survive against the tyrannical rule of Tantas. Using all of her abilities, will Frey withstand the dangers of the world of Athia?
A Display of Fluid Traversal and Combat
The Forspoken gameplay trailer displays a constant and fluid traversal system between fighting and moving across the game world. Additionally, Frey’s items can be upgraded to improve combat efficiency and stats to unlock special abilities. Rest at safe locations across the game world, but be careful players can encounter a “breakstorm” that spew hordes of demonic creatures ending with the boss.
Forspoken is the debut title for the development studio Luminous Productions assembled from employees that worked on Final Fantasy XV. The game will remain a PlayStation exclusive for two years before players elsewhere will be able to get their hands on the game.
