We’re back again with another jam-packed week of free Steam games to play during your quarantine filled weekend. We hope you were able to get in on all the fun games from last week, as there were quite a few to try and keep. This week though, we’ve got a bit of a different situation thanks to the beginning of LudoNarraCon. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a digital convention celebrating a ton of story-rich games and their developers. Steam is hosting the event along with a ton of sales and demos for you to give a try. We’d be here for hours if I tried to cover them all, so I’ll provide you with a link to the event and the promotions. Be sure to let us know what you get into, and purchase anything that truly captivates you.
Without further adieu though, onto the standard free promotions this week!
Beginning with our free weekend promotions is Project Winter from Other Ocean Interactive. Play with up to seven other friends as you collect supplies and brave the wilderness together. Communication is essential to surviving these harsh winters, so be sure to work together. Be careful though, as some of your friends aren’t here to survive with you. The game is an interesting take on the Trouble in Terrorist Town idea and it is great if you have a few friends to join in. You have until Monday morning to give this a go on Steam, so be sure to act quickly. The game is also 65% off if you guys like the way it plays.
Following that game up is Post Scriptum, something entirely different. It’s an authentic World War II shooter from the team at Periscope Games. With a focus on large scale, historically accurate battles, Post Scriptum drops you into an excellent world in a battle with the nefarious enemy. History junkies are going to love this, but also those looking for an authentic shooter set during the world wars. This free weekend joins the most recent update for the game, which introduced several new maps and weapons. There’s lots of content here for new and returning players, and we recommend you give it a go. You have until 1 PM on Sunday to play this one, and until Monday at 10 AM to take advantage of the 25% off sale on Steam.
And finally for our free weekend offers is XCOM 2. This one’s a turn-based strategy game from Firaxis Games. From the series that truly revolutionized the turn-based strategy genre, play as XCOM, the leading global force against aliens. The race has taken over planet Earth, and it’s up to you to join forces and put a stop to it. You’ll have to ignite a global resistance using the government tools at your disposal, and there’s plenty of aliens who need killing. XCOM 2 has many awards for its solid strategy mechanics and great art. It’s one that, if you’re a strategy fan, you almost have to play. You have until April 30th to try XCOM 2 on Steam, so be sure to sink your teeth into it and let us know how it goes.
In terms of indie games that are free to keep, there is one. It’s PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION 2 from Bandai Namco. The name should almost speak for itself. Otherwise, that’s everything you can play for free this weekend on Steam. Not much free to keep, but some solid free weekend titles. Does anything specific catch your eye? What did you get the chance to play last week? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
