The interview circulated across social media and generated widespread discussion. Many reactions focused on Fetterman’s criticism of Sanders and Democratic leaders.

Fetterman said Sanders should apologize “for pushing this kind of predator.” He also urged Sanders to apologize “to the victims.” Fetterman added, “Stop pushing these kind of communists.” He later described Platner as “a dead man walking” politically.

Fetterman said Platner had been “credibly accused of rape.” He said Democratic leaders had called for Platner to leave the race. Fetterman also criticized Democratic supporters who backed Platner, calling them “absolute dirtbags.”

Bernie Sanders Apology Demand Sparks Mixed Reactions Online

The interview quickly sparked debate online, with many users backing John Fetterman’s criticism of Bernie Sanders, while others argued Sanders should not be blamed for Graham Platner’s alleged actions.

Several users supported Fetterman’s remarks. One wrote, “Bernie’s endorsement is quickly becoming the kiss of death.” Another added, “Who would have thought that Fetterman would be the voice of reason in the Democrat party?” A separate response stated, “John Fetterman makes more sense than any other Democrat.” Another user wrote, “Exactly, maybe they would get more moderates to vote, instead of looking for candidates in the septic tank.”

Others pushed back on Fetterman’s criticism. One response read, “John Fetterman needs to stay in his lane, Bernie is not responsible for things Platner did 5 years ago.” Another wrote, “Donald Trump is an adjudicated rapist. Confirmed by SCOTUS. So I guess you only care about problematic democrats”

Sanders had not publicly responded to Fetterman’s remarks at the time of writing. It remains to be seen whether the Vermont senator will address the criticism or continue to stand by his support for Platner.
