This October, Storm is getting her very own solo series to help usher in the new era of X-Men. To go along with the new era, the omega-level mutant is getting a brand-new look. Marvel is bringing in Murewa Ayodele and Lucas Werneck to take Storm into this new stage. Neither creator is a stranger to Marvel, having worked on other titles like Moon Knight: Black, White, & Blood (Ayodele) and Immortal X-Men (Werneck). Now, they will take Storm (and her new duds) on a journey of leadership and grappling with the consequences of choice.

Speaking about the Storm series, creators Murewa Ayodele and Lucas Werneck are eager to share this new adventure. Artist Werneck is still in awe that Marvel gave them such a gift. Storm is one of those characters that means so much to people and represents so much for so many fans. Of course, that adds a bit to the pressure of getting this new adventure right.

For the new series, Werneck designed a new look for Storm. A look at the new design shows the weather-manipulating mutant in a sleek black and gold suit. Barring a toned midriff, this new outfit also brings back the character’s iconic winged sleeves. In fact, the whole look is very reminiscent of the one worn in the animated cartoon. Though, admittedly, a bit sexier. The look is complete with gold lightning bolt adornments and the mutant’s iconic white mane of hair.

Writer Murewa Ayodele gave a hint at what this Storm series will feature…and it sounds massive. According to the writer, the series builds towards gargantuan conflicts that will shake the entire universe. These new stories are filled with humanity, love, mystery, adventure, heartbreak, and all-out action. Alongside Werneck, Ayodele is cooking up some big things with this series.

Storm is coming this October from Marvel.
