Marvel is showing off what happens when vampires and magical students meet in a first look at Strange Academy: Blood Hunt #1. The issue, from Daniel Jose Older and Luigi Zagaria, finds hordes of vampires descending on the home of Strange Academy in New Orleans. As the undead attack, students Dormammu, Zoe Laveau, Shaylee Moonpeddle, German Aguilar, and Toth go on the offense. They decide to hunt down the Darkhold, which holds a spell that can destroy all vampires. Unfortunately, finding the book is easier said than done since it was transformed into a human child during the Contest of Chaos.
Strange Academy: Blood Hunt First Look
In the special look at Strange Academy: Blood Hunt, the mystical students enjoy a day in the city with new student Pia. As they enjoy the sights and travel through some historic cemeteries, the day is suddenly plunged into darkness. A horde of vampires quickly emerge from the shadows and surround the kids. As they flee to the safety of the Academy, they get a little help from Doctor Strange. The master of the mystic arts gets them safely to the campus and stops the vampires at the gates.
On another page, Doctor Strange astral projects in to speak with Jericho. Of course, the students decide to eavesdrop on this conversation. Meanwhile, another page shows the newly human Darkhold and Agatha Harkness on a train. The two seem to be at odds as they travel through the countryside.
Summer Of Vampires
Strange Academy: Blood Hunt #1 is one of many offshoots that come from the Blood Hunt event. This summer event finds the Marvel Universe plunged into eternal darkness. As the sun disappears, the vampires appear out of the shadows. United by a common goal, the hordes of the undead launch a full-scale assault on the world. Forcing the heroes of Marvel to band together and put an end to this bloody attack. Marvel is teasing the upcoming event as its bloodiest and most gruesome one yet.
