Marvel has announced a new series chronicling the adventures of the students of Strange Academy. The new miniseries, Strange Academy: Blood Hunt, is putting Doctor Strange’s mystical students into the middle of Marvel’s Blood Hunt event. The youngsters take it upon themselves to help rid the world of the eternal night. The three-issue run comes from writer Daniel Jose Older. Artist Luigi Zagaria joins him to bring Strange Academy’s brightest into Marvel’s darkest event yet.
Strange Academy: Blood Hunt
Marvel shared a quick synopsis of what the limited series will focus on. To help rid the world of the eternal night and vampiric invasion, the students of Strange Academy seek out the legendary Darkhold. This book of ancient magic can supposedly help turn the tide in the vampire war by banishing the constant darkness the Marvel Universe is under. According to the debut issue’s cover, the miniseries will focus on a specific team of students seeking out the legendary book. It includes Doyle Dormammu, Zoe Laveau, Shaylee Moonpeddle, German Aguilar, Toth, and Gus the Ice Giant.
Speaking about the series, writer Daniel Jose Older shared he is a big fan of Skottie Young and Humberto Ramos’ work with Strange Academy. Naturally, they jumped at the opportunity to play around in that world through this crossover event. The writer walked around their home of New Orleans for inspiration for the adventures that await these sorcerous students.
The Biggest And Bloodiest Event
Marvel’s Blood Hunt event is ramping up to be a big one. This Strange Academy tie-in is just one of several Marvel has recently announced for the vampire crossover. For example, the villainous Dracula is getting his own miniseries that spawns from the Blood Hunt event. Everyone in the Marvel Universe is joining the vampire war, whether they want to or not. However, who makes it out completely unscathed is anyone’s guess.
