Streamer Clavicular is facing significant backlash after a video featuring him and his friends went viral. In the clip, the group appeared to be shooting an alligator in Florida, reportedly for entertainment purposes.
In the video, Clavicular and three of his friends are seen on an airboat with an alligator nearby in the water. The group appeared to be holding firearms before proceeding to shoot at the animal.
In the clip, Clavicular is seen firing at the alligator multiple times, reportedly shooting it around 11 times, while one of his friends also fired several shots. After the gunfire stopped, Clavicular said, “I think it’s dead. Yeah, it’s definitely dead.” It remains unclear from the video whether the alligator was already dead before the group approached it or if it died as a result of the shooting.
The video drew widespread criticism, with many viewers describing it as an act of animal cruelty. Following its circulation online, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released a statement addressing the incident. “The FWC is aware of a video depicting individuals in the Everglades on an airboat who appear to be discharging firearms at an alligator. FWC officers are looking into the incident and will provide additional information when available,” the agency said.
According to The Independent, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office announced that Clavicular has been arrested on assault charges. “It’s not clear if the arrest is related to the video,” the publication reported.
The video sparked widespread outrage, with many viewers describing Clavicular and his friends as acting irresponsibly. While some attempted to defend the streamer’s behavior, the majority of reactions were critical. The incident also prompted broader discussions about the importance of respecting wildlife and following the law. Additionally, some users raised concerns about the influence of online creators, arguing that Clavicular’s actions could set a negative example for his audience.
People Reacting to Clavicular Shooting an Alligator in Florida
The video sparked reactions online. Many people directed strong criticism at Clavicular online. One person wrote, “This [expletive] clown is the biggest attention [expletive] I’ve ever seen. Get rid of this filth.” Others attempted to downplay the situation. One commenter said, “U forgot to mention that it was dead before they started shooting.. Doesn’t make it better, but at least it wasn’t alive.” This prompted another response arguing that the issue went beyond the animal’s condition: “You forgot to know that it doesn’t matter if it’s alive or dead. It’s STILL against the law…& Discharging a firearm in a national park is a felony when there is no threat to one’s life. I’m sure he’ll be speaking to authorities soon if he hasn’t already!”
More users voiced their outrage over the video. One person wrote, “Nice Felony you have there…. Sure would be a shame if someone reported that…… What an absolute joke of a man.” Another added, “This makes me furious! People who abuse animals for no reason like that are psychopaths. I hope he gets put in prison for a long time. Everybody in that boat needs to be in jail.”
The video has been cited by critics as an example of the extreme lengths some streamers may go to in pursuit of attention and views. Regardless of whether the alligator was alive or dead, many viewers argued that the actions shown crossed a line and were deeply troubling.
