Fans of Dead Rising 4 and the franchise as a whole will be well aware that Frank West and the DR gang have a penchant for some fancy threads, bizarre getups, and truly unique costumes. Whether it be matching a firefighter’s jacket with a pink skirt or putting on a luchador mask and a business suit, the plethora of clothing options are sure to delight and offer a refreshing break from bashing zombies in the head. Dead Rising 4 has now taken some costumed inspiration from their publisher by offering Frank a series of costumes based on another iconic Capcom franchise, Street Fighter.
Five costumes from the Street Fighter franchise now appear in Dead Rising 4 for free thanks to the game’s latest update. The looks of M. Bison, Zangief, Cammy, T. Hawk and Guile are all Frank’s now and include more than just the clothes but also the accessories! Frank ensures the looks are authentic adding Zangief’s chest hair, Guile’s American Flag tattoo, and Cammy’s camouflage to name a few. These new costumes also come with two new difficulty levels although they are not detailed in the costume announcement trailer. Instead, you will have to look back to an Xbox News posting in December which reveals what to expect from the Dead Rising 4 increased difficulty:
For players that have tamed the zombie horde and are looking for a bigger challenge, two new difficulty settings for Story Mode are also coming in early 2017. Enemies do more damage, Frank’s weapons break faster, and food restores less health than before.
The Nerd Stash gave Dead Rising 4 a score of 3 out of 5 stars citing that there was “plenty to explore” and the benefit of “crazy weapons” although the formula is getting “repetitive”. The game is the first since the series premiere to feature photojournalist Frank West as the main protagonist. The second and third installments both featured different main characters and different settings during the zombie outbreak.
