It’s normal for restaurants to have rules, but not all rules should be followed at all times. Sometimes, making an exception won’t harm anyone. A North Carolina woman was left stunned after she was kicked out of a restaurant just because she wanted to sit down and eat. She might have made her order to-go, but it wouldn’t have been the end of the world if they had let her stay. She also only planned to take a bite before leaving. However, once she sat down, an employee came and asked her to leave. It’s not even like the place was filled with customers and they needed the spot. According to the woman, there were only three people other than her inside the restaurant.
After being forced to leave, the North Carolina woman wanted to change one of the sauces she had. When she went back to do just that, they told her that she couldn’t because she had left the building. Weren’t they the ones who told her to leave? The treatment is unprofessional and not something a restaurant should do. Of course, people decided to leave bad reviews on the restaurant’s Yelp page. Currently, they only have 3 stars. While rules are rules, they could have let her stay since she wasn’t harming anyone. That would have helped them avoid a lot of drama.
People Reacting to the North Carolina Woman Being Kicked Out
People had different reactions to what happened to the North Carolina woman. Some thought that the restaurant did the right thing since her order was to-go, while others believed that they should have let her sit down. This is why one person said, “I would’ve got a refund.” Another person agreed and said, “Nah fr, I paid for the food, didn’t need the service there fore no tip needed. These restaurants allergic to money ig.” It seemed like the woman did ask for a refund after they refused to swap the sauce. She probably didn’t get one since she posted another video of herself eating the food in her car. One woman also wondered why they would kick a customer out as she asked, “Even if she ordered to go what does that mean? She can’t even check her food to make sure its right?”
Some people did try to defend the North Carolina restaurant as one person said, “You can’t get your food to go then eat it there….. I thought that was common knowledge.” This defense made a few people who work at restaurants share their opinions. “I’ve worked in bars & restaurants for the last 7 years & this has NEVER been an issue & it’s empty in there… be fr,” one woman wrote. Another woman then said, “I’ve worked in restaurants for 30 years, there’s no reason she wasn’t allowed to try her food!” This even made a manager share their opinion by saying, “Yeah, I manage restaurants for like 15 years never once would I ever tell somebody that can’t eat there even if they ordered to go.” So it looks like the restaurant was in the wrong.
