Usually, cops receive a lot of criticism, and sometimes this criticism is valid. A cop currently catching a lot of flak from the internet is from Washington, who internet users are describing as stupid. In a video currently circulating, you can see a patrol car on I-5 as a man walks in front of it. For some reason, the cop made her car back away. It wasn’t clear whether the man was dangerous or being chased. He was definitely obnoxious to drivers on the highway, though. Rather than getting out of her car and making him get off the highway, the cop remained inside. She would move the car forward only to move backward once again. All of this was happening while the guy was moving back and forth across the road.
What happened next led to the drama. The man walked to the front door, opened it, and pulled her out by pushing her to the ground. She didn’t even pull out her gun when she saw him heading toward the car. He was also quick to get inside the patrol car. On the other hand, the cop was taking her time while she tried to get off the ground. By the time she tried opening the door once again, it was too late. So she stood there pulling the handle without any success. There were a lot of things she could have done to get him out, but she decided to do none of them. People Reacting to the Stupid Washington Cop
It is safe to say that everyone dragged the Washington cop after they saw how she handled the situation. So of course, the comments were mostly against her. “That is the most inept cop I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of inept cops,” one person wrote. Another person then replied, “Got up real slow too. Like they wanted them to just take the car.” Someone else said, “That cop has terrible situational awareness.” One Redditor also couldn’t help but point out how the way the guy pulled out the cop looked very familiar. “Pulled this move right out of GTA,” they wrote. At least in the game, they usually are quicker when they try to get their car back.
More people came after the Washington cop, trying to guess what would happen to her now. “That cop will never live this down. Deservedly so,” one person wrote. Another person then said, “I can’t imagine the embarrassment when other cops come to pick her up after this.” It also turns out that the situation could in fact get worse as someone disclosed, “She was a Lieutenant too, which makes it funnier/worse lol.” There was one person who actually tried to defend the cop. “Poor cop – does the non-violent approach – tries to protect him from getting run over – gets assaulted and humiliated – she will never live this down. I do hope that the media at least emphasizes how she didn’t escalate the situation and subsequently kill the guy. It looks like she was committed to helping the guy past the point of reason,” they said.
